In addition to the 6 local groups which have already been launched, we are delighted to announce that Carry Elsam is helping SASBAH to set up a new group in the Lewes/Ringmer/Uckfield area.  If you are interested in finding out about plans for this new group you can contact Carry on 01273 812335 or email carry@hteqa.com.

Local Support Groups

Details of the groups already up and running are given below.  Have a look for the one nearest you to see what’s happening:

• Hastings & Rother – this group meets on the first Wednesday of each month, from 11am – 1pm at Centre Stage, 87 London Road, Bexhill, TN39 3LB.  Members helped out with our Awareness Day in the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre in Hastings and took part in the Rotary Club of Bexhill sponsored walk in June.  Future dates are: 3^rd August, 7^th September, 5^th October, 2^nd November and 7^th December.  Contact Claire if you’d like to know more.
  
• Eastbourne & Wealden – finally we have found a venue for this group -  St Saviours Church Hall in South Street, Eastbourne, BN21 4UT.  Future meetings will be on the third Tuesday of the month, from 6.30 – 8.30pm, on 16^th August, 20^th September, 18^th October, 15^th November and 20^th December.  If you have any queries, do get in touch with Claire.
  
• Worthing & Adur – this group are a very social lot and decided to meet at The Three Fishes, 56 Chapel Road, Worthing, BN11 1BE, on the third Thursday of the month from 2 – 4pm.  Future dates are: 18^th August, 22nd September, 20^th October and 17^th November.  Members are enjoying  getting involved in fundraising and craft activities.  Our picture (see below) shows Corinne, Jim, Dave, Dave and Fulvio at Worthing Football Club. • Mid Sussex – at the last meeting it was decided to change the venue for this group to Sheddingdean Community Centre, Maple Drive, Burgess Hill, RH15 8HP. They meet on the fourth Thursday of each month from 2.30 – 4.30pm.  Various activities are planned.  In August it will be card making.  Future dates are 25^th August, 29^th September, 27^th October and  24^th November.  Dave can give you more information on this one.
  
• Crawley & Horsham – this group has also chosen to meet in a pub, the Jubilee Oak, 6 Grand Parade, High Street, Crawley, RH10 1BU.  Meetings are on the second Thursday of each month from 2 – 4pm.  Members are getting involved in fundraising activities and had a stall at the One World One Community Fun Day at Langley Green Primary School in July.  Future dates are  11^th August, 15^th September, 13^th October, 10^th November and 15^th December. • Chichester & Arun – this group is changing venue to meet at Brewers Fayre, The Esplanade, Bognor Regis, PO21 1BL.  They meet on the first Wednesday of each month  and the time is changing to 12noon – 2pm.  Future dates are  3^rd August, 7^th September, 5^th October, 2^nd November and 7^th December.  Contact Dave if you’d like to know more.

 The Local Support Groups are open to anyone with an interest in SASBAH and our support for those with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus throughout Sussex.  They chose their own agenda, so get involved in social activities, fundraising, local events, raising awareness – whatever they decide.  Simply chose the one most convenient to you and join us!
